Aydan is a curious, expressive and extremely busy keeping himself busy talking about trees, rocks and rivers on our hikes both locally in Philadelphia and on our day-long adventures nearby. He listens intently and with understanding no matter what language we're reading and what our storybooks are about. And, finally, he cares so much about all living beings. We carry around snacks for all the neighborhood pets with see at the parks and on our daily walks!
What are Aydan Nasim Ahmed's favorite activities?Aydan loves climbing, drawing pictures and cooking some favorites like pasta, pizza and veggies for his stuffies and feeding them their breakfasts first thing in the morning. He's even working on potty-training his puppy! He loves exploring some of his favorite things like nature and trains on hikes and museums. We spend most of our weekends doing fun things the city of Philadelphia has to offer -- free libraries, splash parks, art galleries, Trader Joe's and farmer's markets.
How would $25,000 impact your family?As a single mama teaching students and being in graduate school full-time, we have our hands full and do the best making ends meet. The prize would help us tremendously over supplementing our day-to-day needs and give us some breathing room to participate in activities that Aydan is so, so deserving of that we can't afford right now. He loves music and we could enroll him in guitar class or sign him up for soccer because he loves kicking the ball around. It would truly mean the world to us!
