River Broderick

River is the happiest little baby. She smiles like crazy and is starting to develop a little giggle to go with it. She’s becoming vocal and loves to babble as she looks into your eyes. River is rarely fussy, we joke about how we can’t remember the last time we saw her cry. She’s the toughest baby, a true warrior. Her daily seizures take a toll on her, but she never stops fighting. We use to feel unfortunate to have a child with this disorder, but now we feel lucky to have a baby this amazing.

She loves to go out on the boat. She goes fishing with us and finds boat rides relaxing. Bath time is one of her favorite times. River loves being in the water, especially in her floatie on the lake. Her name fits her. She also enjoys putting her hands in her mouth. She loves to snuggle and take naps with her 12 year old pit bull sister. Our favorite activity is having her face us in our lap while we exchange smiles and laughs.

The money would give us a sense of relief in these dark times. Her disorder prevents protein from reaching her brain, resulting in severe developmental delays. Since there’s no cure, we must work on her development as much as possible. We don’t know if she’ll ever be able to walk, talk, etc. so we need all the help we can get from the best therapy available, which is very expensive. A future full of the unknown is scary, so having proper support to give her the best quality of life is crucial.
